Happy Halloween!

Returning to my Sweet Spot Series. This third installment includes inserted photos, which I've been wanting to play with. I also exported the map from ArcMap as a jpeg file and uploaded into photo editing software... I like the result...map as art! Woot!

Sick, sick...sick *cough*

So this must be the flu because I have the cold that does not end. My self prescription for colds is as follows:

Kombucha Juice (it's magical people, magical)
Vitamin C
Yogi Green Tea with Lemon Ginger (plus a daily dose of wisdom on the tea bag)

Here's to everyone feeling better! More later!

Who we really are...

I don't know where to actually start this blog...my mind goes in so many different directions. I guess the main point is, I'm continually surprised at the depth to people. Surprise ins't quite the right emotion...reminded? Maybe more closely related to empathy than I can get here...however, we all walk around with so much inside of us. It's like stumbling upon beautiful poetry written by an acquaintance. Or the smiling stranger who just lost a good friend. Or the brief conversation that reveals so much it almost makes you squirm internally. Why are we so adapt at hiding the real us? Why the public projection? Where does authenticity really begin? Our paths cross but do we really see each other? The reality of this seems big and almost dangerous. But I'm convinced that now is the time to live dangerously...

When I becomes We

I caught a snag in my life yesterday, completely ran across something I hadn't considered yet. I'm a little bit scared to lose myself, who I am, in this whole marriage relationship thing. I didn't notice the change, it just never occured to me to think about this aspect of marriage. And I don't know where that healthy line is, to participate in the whole two becoming one, yet hang on to my personal identity, what makes me-me. Something big and new to think about. I'm just in the beginning phases, am curious to see how this develops.

mi trabajo sigue...

Just another day proving my theory that the shorter the road, the longer the bloody name they choose for it!!! Super hard to label in a map! ;)

Sweet Spot Series #2

My second installment takes us to maybe not such a top-secret location: Ayres Natural Bridge! One of my favorite summer or fall activities. Throw your kayak and tent in your truck, climbing shoes for a little bouldering (maybe a slack-line if you're feelin' it) and you have the makings of a beautiful weekend!

Sweet Spot Map Series

The fall blues return! The days are becoming so short, the nights too cold! But the beautiful afternoons of crisp blue sky and brilliant sunshine make me ache for one final camping trip. The following multi-part map series will highlight some of my favorite camping spots in the area. These places are easily found with a little Google earth reconnaissance and some local road maps.

Voting Map Series

The election is just around the corner. No matter which candidate you chose to vote for, you cannot place signage with 300 ft. of a polling place.

Where, for a brief moment, I give into whining....

But seriously, I am feeling passively rebellious! I don't want to look at any more houses with weird funky smells and hovering realtor in tow. I want a house to magically appear before me, perfect price range, perfect location, perfect size. Also, I don't want to decide on invitations. Why don't ultra-creative, ultra-personal, super cheap invites appear out of thin air? I want to blow off work today, peel off my boots, and sink my toes into the green, green grass while soaking up the last fall rays.
